Jim, your inks look great- I have Manga Studio and my attempts are uniformly awful- now it just sits in my hard drive doing nothing and I went back to hand inking- (which isn't great either!). Fantastic stuff and a real pleasure to view.

You're too kind! It's all perseverance with any digital package -- you should have another go. If I ever get any spare time ever again, I may try to blag some pencils off you… I quite fancied taking a crack at some of those Red Sands pencils when you first put some previews online.

Sure thing- any pages you want- I have them all scanned in at 300 dpi A3 size- if the ones I uploaded here aren't high enough rez, give us an email addy and I'll zip them up and send them on in whatever format you want- it would be good to see how someone who can actually ink well tackles them. I'm heavy handed with a pencil, I go through heaps of mechanical pencil leads when I use them, once I get going on a page I just snap them with pressure. I always feel my inking totally kills my pencil drawing and I've often thought I should find a way of just cleaning up the pencils enough to use them as is- though that's probably the madness of art-rage frustration talking. I'll keep at it with Manga Studio because I do see the positive results others get with it. I think some of the problem comes from the cheapass tablet I have (Asis- now a defunct company, I can't get updated drivers for it for Win 7 and, though it works in photoshop ok, in MS4 it tends to draw lines at all times unless I hold down the pen button. I'm angling for a bamboo though... despite the fact that Swingwing from The Boys has ruined the word 'bamboo' for me forever!
